For this purpose, imports are also considered if the supply of these goods or services would be taxable if made within the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, a VAT-registered business in the UAE collects tax from its customers and pays it to the government. You can make these amendments online, but you must keep in mind that you must inform the FTA within 20 days of making any amendments.<\/p>\n<p>Failing to inform the administration of amendments in your tax record will attract the following penalties:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-style-blue\">\n<li>AED 5,000 for first-time offenders.<\/li>\n<li>AED 15,000 for repeat offenders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other VAT-related offences also attract penalties such as:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-style-blue\">\n<li>AED 20,000 for delayed submission of VAT registration.<\/li>\n<li>AED 1,000 for not filing VAT returns for the first time.<\/li>\n<li>AED 2,000 for failing to file VAT returns within the next 24 months.<\/li>\n<li>AED 15,000 for not displaying prices without including tax.<\/li>\n<li>AED 10,000 for the first-time offence of not maintaining records.<\/li>\n<li>AED 50,000 for failure to maintain records subsequently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Procedure to Make Amendments to the VAT Registration<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Kindly note that some VAT-related amendments require prior approval from the FTA. For amendments that do not require approval, you can follow this procedure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Visit FTA\u2019s VAT registration portal.<\/li>\n<li>Find your approved VAT registration application in the dashboard tab.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201cEdit\u201d button to update the following details:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul class=\"list-style-blue\">\n<li>Changes or additions regarding your business activities.<\/li>\n<li>Your organisation\u2019s GCC activities.<\/li>\n<li>Updates or edits in the customs registration information.<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u201cSubmit\u201d to make the changes. The amendments will automatically reflect in your profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Procedure for Changes Which Require FTA Approval<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Inform the FTA in writing about the changes made to your VAT registration.<\/li>\n<li>You can amend the details only after the FTA approves them.<\/li>\n<li>Once you receive FTA\u2019s approval, click on the \u201c Amendments\u201d button to change the following information:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul class=\"list-style-blue\">\n<li>Business details<\/li>\n<li>Business-related bank details<\/li>\n<li>Modification of VAT application<\/li>\n<li>Business relations details<\/li>\n<li>Updating the declarations<\/li>\n<li>Actual or estimated financial transactions<\/li>\n<li>Import and export details<\/li>\n<li>Authorised signatory<\/li>\n<li>Communication preferences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Cross-check all the information before clicking on the \u201cSubmit &amp; Review\u201d button.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some sections of the VAT application are prohibited from direct amendments.
